Daniel Brouns - “Stock Music For The Cosmos”

"Stock Music For The Cosmos" is a concept album about first experiences. Daniel Brouns journaled for nearly a year to pinpoint nine of the most influential moments of his life, ranging from his first experience watching a pornographic video to his first experiences with love and death. The nine-song album is somewhat of a memoir of the first thirty years of Brouns’s life, containing three songs per decade.

Daniel Brouns began recording "Stock Music For The Cosmos" with longtime friend Kenny Becker of the band Goon in 2019. Most everything was recorded in Becker’s home studio in Glendale, CA. The recording process was cut short by the pandemic and restarted in March of 2021. Emily Elkin (of Angel Olson's live band) played cello on the album, and Chuck Moore of Cartalk sang backup vocals on select songs.

Daniel moved back to Los Angeles, in February of 2023, and the album release is set for May 17th 2024.
