Forest Floor

The project Forest Floor is Geoff Saba’s sonic adulation of the cosmos. Dualities such as composition and decomposition, wave and particle, and dark and light, Saba posits, find no better microcosmic home than within sound. Pieces of sound and music emerge from Saba’s divinatory process of improvised studio recording. Elements take shape through his multi-instrumental channeling of voices, ideas, traditions, and languages and are weaved into vibratory discourses that seem to yearn for their collective autonomy. Saba imbues these worlds with life and steps away, allowing the ecosystems to speak for themselves.
