LA-born and bonded pair, Alex Stills and Anina Denove introduce their new indie-pop outfit through debut single, Temperate Danger — an alluring and confrontational ode to our inner saboteurs, who tend to emerge when “gardens are green.” Driven by dreamy, haunting vocals, and sonic grey areas between beautiful and messy, terrifying and freeing, the song was born from the frustration and agony of never feeling completely secure, and yearning to break out from an unending state of temperate danger. Beyond a fervent story of anxiety emanating from old wounds, the song is also a poignant cry for what paer needed in the music industry: a safe harbor free from a harsh, demanding, algorithm-centered culture that perpetuates self doubt in its artists.
